Better Catholics is a project of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa's Evangelization and Faith Formation Ministry. Episode 10
Lent is a time in the church liturgical calendar when we focus on growing closer to God. Over a period of 40 days, we pray more, do acts of penance, and share our blessings to others. It is the time when even those who are not very active in the church in other times of the year are often seen attending daily Masses for instance, preparing themselves, like the rest of the faithful, to celebrate the Lord’s resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Catholics in the CNMI observe many beautiful practices during the Lenten season that are distinct. In this episode we mentioned some of those local traditions - some forgotten and some still in practice. What are other customs that you, your family, or your parish observe?
